The capital the modern Orissa still reverberates with the ethos and echoes of a bygone era. The jungle of concrete ,the modern architecture has created with all its  intricate engineering is simply dwarfed  by the great monuments of yore ,who epitomize in them the history of centuries in chronological details . An aboard of lord Shiva it has help thousands of Jain saints in their pursuit for the attainment of the ultimate, “nirvana” in the secluded  and sanctified caves of Khandagiri and Udayagiri , depicting the ultimate in renunciation . Dhauligiri on the other side in the banks of river Daya tells the story of Ashoka the great where the victor of the great Kalinga war turned a self effacing banquet before the immortal precepts of Buddhism. A might emperor fell victim to the noble dictates of love, pity and compassion. In between the two extreme ends along side the awe inspiring Lingaraj temple exists Kedar Gouri which carries the tale of eternal love between lord Shiva and his divine concert Gouri .A story of love and sacrifice that was raise to celestial heights .Little distance away the Raja Rani temple both a splendor and marvel to behold is nestled amidst the thick carpet of lush greeneries and blooming petals .The magnificence of architecture is simply transcendental. In totality Bhubaneswar both old and new stand like a huge canvas with splashes of green, color and romance. A crowded metropolis sprawled across a vast plateau always echoes the nostalgia of a rich heritage amidst the flowing light of modern extravaganza. Today the mood moves on changing light a giant kaleidoscope. A spectacle of many huge and shades beautiful and wondrous. Incredible really is the superb blend of antiquity and modernity.
